Archaeology Above & Below 2019 - 6th & 7th April
Archaeology Above & Below, Ireland’s only annual community archaeology conference, is now in its sixth year. The purpose of this conference is to create a forum for discussion between communities and individuals who wish to interpret the story of the landscapes that we inhabit. This is achieved by a series of talks, and workshops detailing the aims, techniques and results of community-led research throughout Ireland and further afield.
Join us this April as we host the presentation and discussion of the work and results of community groups and societies from around Ireland, with contributions from Waterford, Cavan, Sligo, Donegal, Meath, Leitrim & Roscommon, among others. The conference themes this year include Stages on the Community Heritage Journey, Adopt A Monument Projects, Burial Places - Old & New, their study and conservation, Sources & Resources for Our Heritage Projects, Industrial Heritage, Museum Matters and more!
We will be updating the page as we announce our speakers over the coming weeks, so stay in touch with the website and our Facebook page for more information, and click on the link below to book.
