Mary B. Timoney, MA, MIAI, is a Research Archaeologist concentrating since 1984 on graveyards and grave memorials of Cos. Sligo and Roscommon. She received an MA from UCC in 2001 for her study of the Diamond box tombs, published Had Me Made: A Study of the Grave Memorials of Co. Sligo from c. 1650 to the Present, in 2005 and compiled a database of Sligo burial grounds for Sligo Heritage Forum.
In Roscommon she produced the poster on the memorials of St. Coman’s Church of Ireland graveyard and is currently completing her book Ballintober Graveyard and the Grave Memorials of Co. Roscommon in which she analyses the memorials, not just those of Ballintober but also of graveyards of Co. Roscommon and surrounding counties.
