Mary Harte is a former BBC journalist and spent over 25 years working in Northern Ireland as well as in London and Tokyo. She graduated with a BA in History and Politics from UCD in the mid 70s. Many years later she was awarded a Diploma in Archaeology at NUIG and is currently taking an MA in Landscape Archaeology at the University. She is a Director of Raphoe Community in Action and was convenor of the Beltany Heritage Conference which sought to engage local people in the appreciation of the broad spectrum of heritage . She lives in Donegal.
