Mike Croghan, Airview, Rathcroghan Tours
RASP: Rathkineely Archaeological Survey Project
As his name suggests Mike Croghan has a strong connection with the Rathcroghan complex.
In early years he played cowboys and Indians on the monuments, in more recent years he studied archaeology at NUI, Galway in order to better understand the landscape.
In 2009 with the aid of a Heritage Council research grant he commissioned geophysical and laser surveys of Rathkineely ringfort with very interesting results. More recent research has shown a link between Rathkineely and 7th century Connacht royalty.
Mike is a professional photographer and runs an aerial filming company called Airview Ireland.
