The Sligo Community Archaeology Project 2018-2019 - An Overview
The Field Monument Advisor scheme previously operated in Sligo over several years and highlighted the demand and potential in Sligo for greater community involvement with the county’s archaeology whether through directly experiencing sites and monuments, or by developing heritage trails, exhibitions or events. The Sligo Community Archaeology project was developed to provide professional archaeological support for this work which will contribute to the development of community and local tourism initiatives. The Sligo Community Archaeology Project 2018-2019 is an initiative of the Sligo Heritage Forum and is funded by The Heritage Council and Sligo County Council.
